What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors are university trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport, health, and fitness.
What do I need to bring?
Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant, bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the Chiropractor will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.
What should I wear to my appointment?
You will not be asked to undress. We will be able to treat you in your everyday attire.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
In general, you do not need a PCP referral to see a Chiropractor. However, if you do obtain a PCP referral may be needed to get chiropractic care authorized depending on you insurance.
Bend Chiropractor, Dr. Matt is committed to bringing quality health care to the community through safe and effective manual therapy, personal training and nutritional support. He believes communication and education are the key to long-term results. You will experience gentle treatments, and with every visit, no matter how frequent and infrequent your visits are, you will be treated like you are a part of the family. With education being the key to long-term results, you will not be put on lifelong treatment plans, but rather given the tools to keep yourself healthy and hopefully out of the office! Dr. Matt would rather be running into his patients up on the slopes of Mt Bachelor or on Bend’s beautiful river trails! Come in and meet Bend Chiropractor, Dr. Matt!
Many patients like to arrive early to take advantage of the massage chairs we have in our lobby. After a short wait, Dr. Matt will take you to the treatment room and begin the consultation. Together, you will discuss your health-related problems and concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Our goal is to learn more about you, your condition(s) and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care meets your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Matt will perform a complete chiropractic examination. He will test your reflexes, test your ability to turn and bend and will perform standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, physical and functional movement examinations.
X-Rays (Only if Necessary)
We may take x-rays to get a full evaluation of your condition(s). X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Matt will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any X-rays or tests, Dr. Matt will address his recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, Dr Matt will make the appropriate referrals. If there are no contraindications to proceeding with care, he will recommend treatment and discuss further options with you.
Once the report of findings is discussed and Dr. Matt makes sure all of your questions and concerns are addressed the treatment will begin the day of your first visit. During that first treatment you can expect any or all of the treatments to be administered.
Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, we will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Everybody is unique and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan.
When you arrive, we’ll ask that you fill out and turn in our patient forms in our comfortable waiting room where we have three relaxing massage chairs. This paperwork gives us general information about you and your health conditions. Plan for this to take 10-15 minutes or for your convenience you can print out the forms using the link below.
